My Yoga Journey
I discovered yoga through my practice in contemporary / jazz dance. It was in 2001 that my commitment to yoga took hold and I have had a consistent practice ever since. I completed a two year British Wheel Of Yoga / Triyoga Teaching programme in 2013. I then focused to a practice using the methods as taught by B.K.S. Iyengar. I now hold an Iyengar Yoga Level 1 Teaching Certificate. Yoga has been a rock to my life and I feel that following this path is essential to my wellbeing.
What do I teach?
I teach Hatha Yoga according to the Iyengar yoga system where the focus is on precision and alignment. This is a style that is methodical, progressive and where classes range from dynamic to restorative. My goal is to help people with their practice in a way that is enjoyable, safe and inspiring.
Whether you are a beginner or have been practicing yoga for years, this is a class to explore and deepen your yoga practice. Through clear instructions you will learn how to align your body, focus your mind, and connect with your breathing.
Iyengar yoga is suitable for everyone, whatever your age, body shape or level of flexibility
You’ll learn through a carefully graded and systematic programme of Asana (posture), suited to your ability
Pranayama (breath control) is introduced once students have a firm foundation of Asana practice
Practice helps you to relax and energizes the body and mind, bringing vitality, flexibility, strength, concentration, self-confidence and mental calm
